electronically signed documents
Electronically signed documents that must be resigned add extra documents and signatures to a loan signing. Sometimes as much as 100 documents. Is there a way to determine up front if this is the case. This has happened to me twice. I would like to be able to know in advance so that I can price the signing accordingly

What type of loan or application is this? Are these docs coming from one particular lender or title company? I've only seen one or two electronically signed docs in a loan package and it's been quite a while since I've seen those. If these docs have come from one source, during the initial phone call, I'd ask how many electronic docs are to be resigned. then you could determine your fee. Or, you could let the hiring party know that there will be a change in the fee if the doc package is larger or requires special handling that wasn't disclosed during the initial phone call. If neither of those work, then increase your base fee to cover the extra work.

This was a VA loan Application. Over 100 pages all signed electronically. Now they want them resigned with wet signatures in addition to the refi package of 130 pages. 230 pages total and they pay a grand total $95.00

Pat, contact me. This is Michael From TheNotarySpot. The electronically signed docs aren't supposed to be more than 10 pages in the package. We have 1 title company that has these docs in the package. I'm not sure which Pat you are in our system or which signing you are referring to. We will up charge title and pay an additional fee. If they won't approve the up charge we will still pay the fee and absorb it with the account. My office line is 816-548-3100 and my cell is 913-912-9440

"This has happened to me twice". Pat, I think you need to
sharpen your business skills & ask more questions before accepting a signing. There's no way I would have done that for $95. They are clearly taking advantage of you. It should have been a minimum of $100 for the signing & at least another $50 for the extra documents, if not more. We all know that business is hard to come by these days, but there's no point in operating at a loss by accepting this kind of assignment.
