iPhone saved me again
A couple years ago (when I discovered NR and the fantastic tool of Signing Central) I began to turn down signing services that had a low SS rating. At that point I had made the mistake of taking a few jobs that have to this day years later never been paid. I began to save these numbers in my contacts but also put the star ratings into the contact. So my phone is now full of contacts that appear something like "Good Title 5*" or "Lowball SS 1*". There are too many companies to keep track of them all, especially when youre driving or away from the computer, but this has been super handy in judging whether or not to take an assignment simply by looking at the contact that pops on up on the screen when they call again. This morning I received a call from a number in my phone that I had marked as "...1* never pays" that I hadn't heard from in years. If I hadn't made them a listing I would have probably taken the (lowball) assignment because it has been quite dead this month, and never been paid for it after all. Thanks NR! Perhaps someone else can benefit from this tip!

What a great idea! On my Droid, I have set up a contact named "block". Over the years, I have saved some of the more notorious low ballers/non-payers to this number, and they don't even get through now. I like your idea of tagging some of the good paying companies for identification.

I also rate them on my iPhone so I can tell at a quick glance. Plus I have special ringtones programed in for great paying companies and different ring tone for medium paying companies. Totally block bad companies. Helps me a lot to know when to rush to phone or not.

I have the same setup as Laurie, and I put their "star rating" in front of their name. My "good company" ringtone is Harp on iPhone 4. Love it.
One of my "bad company" ring tones is Robot. It sounds like someone talking with a mouth of marbles, which is the impression I get with schedulers trying to catch you off guard by saying their company name way too fast, in the hopes that you won't realize they're worse than a flaming bag of dog poop. ;-)
