Adobe Reader

I have replaced my old Dell with new HP, and would appreciate recommendations and on which version of Adobe Reader to download. I did not find current comments when I searched.

Thanks, but I'm asking because there were so many problems with Adobe x that I stayed with "9", so am interested in comments from those actually using X or X1.

I just replaced my computer with a Windows 8 system and it appears the only download option for the reader that is available with Windows 8 is Xl. I have had several problems with this version. Most recently it just stopped printing in the middle of a 120 page document. I uninstalled it and reinstalled to fix the problem. If I had a choice I would not be using the Xl version.

Lisa, thanks for the helpful response. I should have mentioned that I ordered one with Windows 7 because my son warned me there were issues with Windows 8. However, he doesn't print mixed doc packages, so I appreciate any comments from my fellow notaries public who do.

I also have Adobe Reader X on my pc with Windows 7. So far, haven't noticed any problems - and I've had this pc for almost a year now. However, I've been getting notifications that an update is available. Like you, because of all the issues in the past, I've been hesitant to do that. You know, if it ain't broke.... Wink

Would also appreciate any comments / opinions / experience with Adobe version XI with Windows 7. Thanks!

I got the update notification also. Clicked on it and then got messaged that it was not loading correctly, try later. Later hasn't arrived....not broken, not fixing.

X may cause your legal size docs to be cut off when printing a multi-size file. XI seems to work OK for me, as does 9.

I had same problem. Seems Windows 8 does not like Adobe. Googled the problem, found lots of people asking same thing. The expert answered by recommending a new reader that he uses called Foxit.com. It works for me. And, it's free. You might want to take a look. I have an Envy m6, got it for Christmas. Works a lot better now. Good luck.
