Another low ball SS.
Just received a call from Hatton and Associates, rated 4 stars in SC. They offered $50.00 for the signing, plus $25.00 print fee for a closing tonight at 7 P.M. 15 miles from my house. Gave them my $XXX fee and they just hung up. Unfortunately there are so many (over200) notaries within 15 miles of me that some sucker will do it.

Got a call from them last week offering $50 signing fee + $25 print fee. I too was shocked to see they have a 4 star rating.

Proving yet once again that even the "informed" notaries - those who know about NR and post here (our supposed colleagues with whom we are theoretically allied to keep standards high and fees up) - are keeping the lowballers in business while laughing at other notaries for turning down these jobs. They're only too glad to take them ... you know who you are and so do we.
It's a losing battle.

Updated SC today... Offered me the same yesterday, $75.
for edocs and 40 mile round-trip. No, thank you. They are not a four-star company. Disappointing!

There are few SSs I'll consider working for. I know I've never worked for this company...seems to be a trend.
Wonder if they are squirreling away while they can...ultimately, their business will dry up, they'll need to figure out another gig.
