Back ground check
Ok I notice allot of SC ask for back ground check, I'm not in the business of paying for different background checks for all the different SC. My question is what background check that I can complete that will satisfy all the SC that request one. Why would I need additional background check if I completed the one State requires?

That is the $49 question (or add'l $65 if you've lived in NY
in the past 7 years). That's what NR charges. I was offered a Crimcheck check for $29 and so far, it's been adequate for all who have asked for one. That being said, I don't know why you should need one if you are in CA or any other state that already requires one. In the state of NM you can be a notary if 1) you have a pulse 2) you are not a convicted felon 3) you pay for your application and bond So I can see why some folks want them. Good luck. You can get a free Nexis Lexis (do a search) but it's usually not good enough.

The State of California requires a background check for your work as a Notary Public (non-loan signing). Once you notarized loan documents, SC and Title/Escrow companies require a criminal background check from a company like CrimCheck or Lexus Nexis every 2 years. Hope this helps.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no ONE background check that will make everyone happy. You pays your money and takes your chances. Many will accept just about anything, but some will accept 'only' this or that or something else.

I think that when they request "only" this or that or something else, they should include a disclosure of affilitated businesses....just sayin

Just a thought. Remember the background check company scandels in the late 70's who did cheap sloppy work and ruined many peoples lives? Well it is happening again and been in the news a few months ago. They are back doing sloppy work and ruining lives again. Another thought, so far no service with accept me (California) without another BC.
