Business Plan

How many of you have worked up a business plan for your NSA business? I'm helping my sister with hers for an SBA loan to expand her day spa after 25 years. Her old business plan is 25 years old and needs resurrecting and refreshing if she's going to grow and prosper in these difficult business conditions. Also a couple of her best clients recently passed, one was Larry Hagman, a long and loyal client. She has a lot of great clients but needs to expand her services.

It occurred to me that while I've never had a business plan, I'm always reshaping and moulding, changing and upgrading due to changing times and the way our vendors do business. As business owners, we get to do everything, janitorial, bookkeeping, invoicing, marketing, the actual biz, ordering supplies and equipment, verifying information, IT, correspondence, you name it, we do it. We are mostly one-man, one-woman shows.

And, where did you find a great template for a business plan you may have used to generate?

SCORE is a fantastic organization that used to offer free

mentoring years ago, not sure if they still offer their service/advice for free.

Yes, they still do.

I'm on the mailing list of the local chapter, so I get email notifications all the time, as well as a monthly newsletter. They also offer seminars on a wide variety of topics, depending on the expertise of the volunteers in any particular area. I'm pretty fortunate in that there's apparently a significant amount of expertise to draw from around here and I've attended several worthwhile free seminars. (The hard part is getting my schedule to match theirs...)
