CALIFORNIA NOTARIES

I took the proctored notary exam today, following 6-hour class, had an awesome instructor who was lively, funny and no-nonsense.

It was a piece of cake tihs month...you hear rumors about how tricky the test can be...no one was confusing or misleading or something you had to ponder.

Good for another four years...halleluja...it's behind me. I got the door prize for being the longest notary in the class.

the loooonnnnngggggeeeessssttttt notary

I am not the longest, actually, I'm shrinking....

I meant I took the test for the 11th four year term, starting out as a notary for the Oxnard City Clerk's office in 1973 when I was but a wee chickadee.

My how times have changed. My first seal was a bronze, hand held seal, and I had an embosser too. I had a journal, which I maintained, all my work was on behalf of City business, and I notarized subdivision maps as a matter of course in my role was recording secretary for the City Council and Planning Commission.

I'm taking my test tomorrow.

I am taking it in Oxnard. I think I know my stuff, but I am scared. I have always passed before, and I always study like the dickens long before I get there. I read the handbook and I make flashcards for everything I can think of. I'm glad it was smooth sailing for you! Smile

Re: I'm taking my test tomorrow.

I took mine in January, studied my buns off, there's a lot of material to cover and you never know how the test will be. Got results on Tuesday. 100%. Yep, I know my stuff, and yep, I'm tootin my own horn. Did the live scan yesterday at the police station, $63 for livescan and finger rolling!

Re: I'm taking my test tomorrow.

The XYZ co had a private vendor onsite to do rolling and passport photo. I went to UPS store and paid $64 for live scan, $5 at Costco for 3 passport photos. Saved $54. Celebrated last night with a Asada Salad and Chicken Noodle Soup and two classes of Cabernet! Yeehaw. Felt very full of myself that I aced the test, pretty sure. Congrats, Jan!

I took my retest last year. There was an audible gasp when I got up, as it only took me 15 minutes to complete the test. When you know the stuff, you know the stuff. Being a notary is easy stuff, being a loan signing agent, well, that's mostly a test of customer service Smile
