Convenient Settlement Services, Cornelius, NC
Received an email from them (aka CSS) this morning offering a refi edoc signing to a location at least 35 miles from me for a total fee of $75. Driving to that town requires driving through some rural roads and would take about an hour. I countered with my usual $XXX fee for those circumstances. They responded they couldn't pay my fee for a 15-mile radius. I shot back advising them of distance.
"Didn’t know that sorry. Will try to get someone closer. Thank you."
Wonder where they get their information ..........

That is ridiculous. They should fly to CA and do it themselves and see how far they would get with $75.

Got one this morning too
except the distance was 65 miles one way. They had $85 listed as fee for edocs. I said NOPE, my fee is $2XX for that area. Hope they do find someone closer lol!

When I live on Long Island (NY, of course) I would sometimes go on a website for a restaurant or store, whatever and put in my zip code for locations within "a reasonable distance." It would come up with Norwalk, CT. Or something equally ridiculuous.
Whatever mapping they were using either assumed you had a plane or were going to water ski across Long Island Sound. This is probably what Convenient Settlement is using. I get some of these crazies every now and again.
