Definition of a rude SS
Wakes me up at 7:30am. And when I express my displeasure she comes back with. A vast majority of the population is at work by 8am & don't answer the phone? Hello- it is not the answering that wakes me- it is the bell ringing? And how many of those 8 am workers work regularly until 9 or 10 pm? A simple apology would have been so much more appropriate.!

Re: So? They don't know about time zones? LOL
To many people there is no such subject as time zones! Whatever time it is on the clock is the same time all over the world...until he or she starts getting calls at odd hours where he or she lives I don't think schools do a good job of explaining how time zones work.

I advertise 24/7. So, if the phone rings, I answer.
Have had 6:10 am phone calls from East Coast. That's ok. I answered, took the job and made $225 on that one phone call. Works for me!

I'm up at 5:30. Never get calls that early, but have had them come in around 7:00 am. I have no problem with that, whatsoever.

I don't offer 24/7 and that is why I use my do not disturb
Mode on my iPhone and the house ringer goes on off mode. Only my favorites can reach me. Family emergencies etc.

I wouldn't call it rude, so much as inconsiderate and thoughtless. And I'm with you, except that my hours can often be much later than that. When they're at home relaxing over dinner or a nice glass of wine, we may have hours yet to go. Last night I didn't get home from my last appointment until after 11:00 pm, and then had follow-up work to complete.
I also always answer my phone and I don't mind if someone is calling me early for an assignment they have to fill (although I do appreciate it when they call later in the morning if it's not an imminent appointment). But for other miscellaneous calls that could have waited, it does make me grumpy - but I'll do my best to not let my displeasure show until I've hung up the phone! I might, however, let them know that they woke me up since I'm one of those folks where my brain doesn't snap to attention - or even full consciousness - the second I'm awake, and neither does my voice. Sometimes it's pretty obvious...

I'm with Janet on late nights. I think we actually work "swing shift".
Sometimes I don't pick up the newspapers outside my garage until 9 am!
I started today at 9 am at the courthouse, then a nursing home, then a appt at a lawyer's office and finally a loan signing at Starbucks in Redlands and was finished by 4pm.
I could clone this day. Cheers

It is my belief that a business phone may be called at any time. I would expect to receive voice mail if calling a business outside of normal hours. When your "business" is not open, you should turn off your phone or suffer the consequences!
