Executive Notary Services Announcement

Anyone going to participate in the app purchase requirment listed below? I just got this email:

For serious hard working notaries only that want to get more work!

Executive Notary Services

I highly recommend this if you would like to increase your business. Our office will use this app as an additional tool to schedule notaries for closings, so sign up quick and be sure you have your notary commission and e&0 insurance info current.

Here is the way it works; Notaries and Notary Signing Agents can go to their Apple or Android store and download this Mobile Application for 99 cents. Profile Registration is done by selecting "Sign In" icon which generates an auto email to the app support team. Support Team responds back with a registration form to the notary. Once the notary completes this form with all of their information (profile, experience, contact information, website etc.), they will be given a "homepage" which will contain all of their information. This will allow services who are searching for notaries for assignments to not only locate notaries based on zip code or distance to the signing, but will provide a lot of information about that notary to assist signing services to determine the best notary for the assignment. This will provide information much the same way as some of the popular notary sites on the internet but will provide the mobility when you want or need to leave your office.

To download the app just look for "Notary Search" in the business section of your app store. Currently just works with iPhones and androids only.

Thankyou!

hmmm, I like and respect Tamara, but I'm wondering why it's

not a free download. $1 from 1,000 notaries is a nice little chunk of change...lol that's entrepreneurial ingenuity I suppose.

I'm kinda of wondering if that's the direction other

Companies will go. If this doesn't work then I suppose it would limit the success for other companies as well.

Pathetic.

Might as well do it. They probably paid some guy in India $9.99 to write a simple app to their website...and will require that sum to stay in their database. Yep...SSs will milk this one. They need to get a trade and skills above accepting and forwarding emails and using the phone to call notaries.

Seems like this is a page from the xyz school of entrepreneurship. And competition to THIS site.

I received this email also. I am wondering who receives the profits from the sale of this app?

Frankly, I'm not too concerned about any potential profits from the download. If someone - especially someone like Tamara - wants to undertake the effort and expense of an app, they're entitled to make money from it to at least cover expenses, as there will be a data base to maintain. And $.99 isn't going to break anyone's bank.

But maybe I'm missing something here... On it's face, it sounds to me like just one more directory for us to list on - but only for marketing to signing services. And what will be the follow-up? Would this lead to those companies wanting to send us job requests via email and/or text? Will this facilitate them getting into the bidding war business? Hopefully not, if they want to hire the best notaries. But I think I'd like to know a little bit more about how that end of it would work or if it would be just business as usual for those companies using this service. Do you want to have to be checking your texts and emails while in signings to see if there are any new potential assignments among all the other new messages you might be receiving?

Also, I'd be interested in getting some kind of idea of which companies would be using it. I'd like to think that Tamara wouldn't want to be associated with the low-ballers out there, but if it ends up being mostly lower paying companies, something like this could just become a time waster. I hope that isn't the case.

How about a signing agent app?

I wish someone would write an app for signing agents! Could have scheduling, reminders when docs are due (maybe auto emails to hiring parties), mark status of whether you've confirmed with bwrs, FedEx/UPS tracking and "where's my nearest drop off point that is open now", maps/GPS, accounting reminders/status, all kinds of good stuff. Wish I were an app developer -- I'd write one.

I refuse to do this for a lot more reasons than the obvious

one of making us pay (yes, even $1) to MAYBE get an assignment. My experience is that the 'blast e-mails' (and this is just another form of that) don't give enough info for me to determine if the fee offered is sufficient--nor can I even determine what my fee would be--just not enough info and no immediate answer available from hiring party.

Besides...honest, I find this offensive. Send out an assignment on a smartphone App and make a bunch of notaries act like trained monkeys in a circus. You want to hire me? Treat me as a person with some value to your company, the borrowers, the lender and MAKE THE CALL.

A little more information

I emailed Tamara to ask for more information. She referred me to Carol Ray's website (via a link on her own site), since she said that Carol was the one who referred her to this. She also said "I use when I’m out of the office and I need [to] access notary quickly for a closing." She also said "Myself and other notaries are really enjoying this."

But to me, it looks like the mobility benefit is for the signing service. I suppose the theory is that being in that database makes you more likely to come up on the radar when a ss owner on the move needs to find someone. No mention was made of the method that company would use to contact the notary, although I admit I haven't bothered to go to Carol's website.

I've always found them great to work with, but the last time I got a call from ENS, they would only go to $90 for the client the assignment was with. Had to turn it down, as that doesn't work for me. At this point, I might just save my $.99 - or buy a cup of Seattle's Best coffee under a promo the one near me has going on. Wink I'm going to keep an open mind on this, but so far, I won't be racing to provide all that info.
