Explanation of Loan Docs
I still flounder at the signing table when explaining the purpose of SOME docs before handing it to the BO to sign. In those cases, I just read the title of the doc and ask them to read it before signing. Docs like the HUD, NOTE, DOT, RTC, and other common docs are not an issue.
I just discovered a site called "United Notary Association of America" that has a brief synopsis of docs. To view the info once you are on their site:
1) Click on "Library" (near the top of the page) 2) Click on "Loan Documents Explained" and you will go to "Explanation of Loan Documents" 3) Click on the "Read More" button to get to the individual doc explanations
I hope it will help others out there that struggle with this as well.

Re: Explanation of Loan Docs - Part 2
The site is actually www.unitednotaries.org.
You do not need to click on the word "Library" - just roll your mouse over it and you will see "Loan Documents Explained." Click on it and then click on the "Read More" button.
Sorry.

Don't quote me on this, but if memory serves me
(been a while since I read through it) - the Signing Agent Training book sold here and developed by Signing Registry will do the same and give you and in-depth explanation of what the docs are. It's a great training guide.

Thanks Karla
I recently had a refi from Discover Home Loans. In addition to being 156 pages long, it had quite a few docs that I had not seen before. This will be a help and I appreciate you sharing.
