For NC recording a copy of the DOT

So my SOS said if you have a copy of a DOT you could have the signer attest to the original date and signature and that it is a true copy and acknowledge that signature on an affidavit and it would record. If you were to take a new acknowledgement it will be effective with the new date. So I called the Registrar of Deeds and yes indeed they do accept a copy with an attached affidavit and the document is as valid as the original. It will be recorded with the original date of the document. May come in handy some day for those in NC.
