Free PDF Page Sorter for Letter/Legal Available for Testing
People keep asking about software to separate PDF files into letter and legal. Because this is a very simple task, I wrote this utility last night:
http://www.notaryrotary.com/mc/pdfsorter.asp?id=@SID
Unfortunately, I don't have any good files to experiment with, so my testing has been limited to small documents.
If anyone would like to help test it, feel free. It's secure, but I'm not 100% sure the page sorting logic, report and separator pages are correct. If you test, please let me know what you find.
If it turns out to be fairly solid, I'll integrate it into future document sharing functionality (i.e. someone securely drops an e-doc into your Notary Rotary account and you optionally click a button to sort it) and will consider releasing a free desktop version.
Thanks,
Harry Notary Rotary

Ditto Wow
Total pages 98 results shows 70 letter and 28 legal.
What I really like is the sequence stack why? because you can immediately verify if a supposedly "missing" doc was the result of a printing error or someone's fabrication.
I think this is absolutely wonderful.....Thanks

Re: You may want to add a merge function for blending
docs before you separate them - very handy.

NOw that's AWESOME...
See.... no need to pay a questionable company on the verge of bankruptcy for a script that Harry wrote overnight.
LOL... that's awesome.
I'd be happy to test it out. I may not, ultimately have a need for it (like the fax service) , but I'm happy to test it.

Mixed Test Results
I tested the following:
151 pages = timed out after 20 minutes 121 pages = timed out after 20 minutes 90 pages = successful at about 1 minute <75 pages = successful at less than 1 minute
of the successful test files I performed, it come out great!

I'm impressed!
I like the sequence count, so that I can put them back in order if I have to. I could get a smaller printer for OTR printing. Fabulous, Harry!

Worked great for me. I especially like the stacking order layout so I may put the package back together in the original order.

Hi Harry
Software works great - need it bad as I have only one tray. How do I get the software? I would like to run it on my computer. Concerned about sending out client files.
Can you share the program or perhaps I could buy it?
Let me know - I can't find this type of software anywhere, so I end up hitting print and counting those sheets that are legal and those that are letter - a real pain !
Thanks
