Accepted a signing for this afternoon.

Confirmed appointment

Printed docs and saw that fax backs were required.

Emailed SS "fax backs are not included in my fee. Please add $25 to my fee and send me a new confermation."

They emailed back " Just drop the package."

ok

I wonder how many notaries just do the extra work without requireing extra pay.

I had a signing for Tuesday

Clean confirmation - get the package - it's investment property, not rescission, over 50 pages of faxbacks none of which was disclosed at confirmation.

Called for $25 adjustment - we can give you $10 - sorry, can't help you, please reassign.

I won't work for free any more. If I want to do charity work there's enough local charities who can use the help.

... if I have free time, I'll use it to benefit myself or my volunteer work. Not some money-dripping lender or TC.

Get call for signing recently; HUGE faxbacks required (like the entire loan), none of which was mentioned during confirmation. Immediately e-mailed lender: so sorry, if I had known faxbacks were required I wouldn't have accepted signing. They took it back. Haven't heard from them since. Fine with me. Also, the three times they called before that fiasco, they say: $90 OK? No, not OK. Where'd they get that idea? The last call, the scheduler got all puffy and huffy and said take it or leave it. I Very Politely told her that I understood her position (not really!) but that I really couldn't accept, but thank you for calling anyway, maybe next time, blah blah blah. She wouldn't take no for an answer and kept sputtering and spewing despite all my efforts to get off the phone. Finally, she barked "all right for this time," adding something like "I'm not going to make this a habit!" Oh, OK. So all that, plus the fact I don't faxback for any fee, looks like the end of a once happy relationship. Oh, well. And this is one of the beloved SSs! Yikes!

Got a call last night from a well known lowballer who asked me if I could do a signing nearby, with about 30-40 pages of faxbacks, "our base fee is $60, can you do this for us?" After I picked myself up off the floor, I told them what my fee would be, she said, "I will check on the time change and fee adjustment and let you know"... Still waiting.
When I hung up the phone, and told my family about it, my 8 and 10 year olds both laughed and said "NO WAY". Even kids know about lowball fees and faxbacks. (don't do them)
