Getting old ScanSnap to work with Windows 7
Anyone know how to get an older ScanSnap (4110) to work with Windows 7? I think it may not be possible, but thought if anyone would know, you guys would! It runs fine on Windows XP, but I think my XP computer is on its last legs.

Run in compatibility mode.
Windows 7 and 8 have a great feature called "compatibility mode" you can pull out your old software from the early 1990s even, and it will run, provided you have a disk drive that will accept the old media (Zip disks anyone?). If your software is on a CD, DVD or network, you're in luck!
Find the EXE file for the software you're trying to run, right click and choose "run in compatibility mode"
More info: Right Click on the .EXE file of game(e.g. Paraworld.exe). Click on Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for". Select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" or "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" (or even Vista may be okay). Click Apply. Click OK. That's it. No problem about 64bit. Most of 32bit programs run on 64bit.
My kids have been playing some old computer games that I played in high school this way. They've been collecting dust for 15+ years at my mother's house--she figured out how to run them on the newer machines and sent them over for the kids to play with. Should work for hardware too.
