No....but I have been thinking about it. A few weeks ago my ymail account was hacked into just like yours Cheryl. I received about 35 out of office messages and I knew right away what had happened. My e mail account generated some sort of virus e mail to everyone I had ever sent an e mail to. Not only the people in my address book, but everyone I had ever sent an e mail to in the last three years I have had this account.
I would like to change to g mail, but then I would have to let every title company and signing company know, and have to print new business cards. Not really ready for that yet.

I don't feel up to the challenge today, but I did find how to do this, and it seems SEAMLESS. We'll see.

I did switch between the two but it was not a seamless process. You can google importing contacts from Yahoo to Gmail. I would not delete your yahoo account until you are sure that the transfer of contacts went well. You can also send a email blast to all your important contacts about your new email address.
I hope this helps.

I am in the process for the second time. I was with BellSouth and all was fine until they went to Yahoo email platform. I have been in the process for a year now, and am pretty much complete.
Brand new account w/gmail. I started from scratch building my address book. When X called me for an assignment, I asked that they send all mail to both addresses while I was making the transition. Everyone was happy to do it for me - the response was not the least negative. That had the added benefit of always being able to reach my email w/o worrying about where I was or what computer I was using.
My original account was just hacked so I am calling it quits. I can remember to tell everyone when they call, and notify in writing as I work for them. I'm glad I took my time - just the same as when I changed phone numbers - another year long endeavor.

I use gmail for notary docs and contact. I forward the gmail to my earthlink.com account. Then I may use either gmail (which comes to my cell phone) or earthlink.net to respond.

sorry-wasn't finished. I use att email address now powered
by Yahoo. My email was hacked twice. Google says it doesn't support version of IE I currently use. Will need to use Chrome so transition won't be easy. Yahoo seems to be a hacker's haven. Just a total PIA for the rest of us.

Internet "Exploder" is a disaster waiting to happen. (Actually it already has several times.) You should check into Safari & Opera in addition to Chrome.

My husband uses Firefox - he likes it...
I tried Chrome at the office - wasn't all that happy with it. IDK - but I do have to do something.

Okay..I installed FF and I'm already less than impressed
it only imported 4 of my folders from my favorites and I have far too much information bookmarked to leave it behind.

Re: Okay..I installed FF and I'm already less than impressed
It can be sent over - I got all mine.
Go to Bookmarks icon - click - check View Bookmarks toolbar. Then you will see new toolbar pop up into place. Click on Getting Started and roam till you find how to move old favorites over, file folders and all. You need to give Firefox more than a couple of hours to get used to it. BTW - your Pin It button also goes on this toolbar.
Now talk about a PITA - Pinterest has had me stymied for months....now I am working with it today most of day and getting the hang of what it is all about. You just need to learn something new - and it isn't that hard.

I gave up already and uninstalled it...went to
Google Chrome - all favorites and bookmarks already imported over in the blink of an eye - just working on getting the right font set up...not there yet but almost.
Thanks though...

Re: My husband uses Firefox - he likes it...
I've had Firefox for at least 6 years and have had no issues with it - knock on wood. Guess I'm blessed. For email, I use hotmail and also have a gmail account and have had NO problems with either.
Also have IE, which I only use for NYCB e-signing.

Re: My husband uses Firefox - he likes it...
One reason you have had no issues with FF is that you and your husband use safe computing. It is not the browser, but the user that determines how many nasties get into the computer. I've had one or two, but not too many as I am very paranoid about what email and websites I open. I have IE, Chrome, and FF on my computers as I have had to change browsers for certain websites.
MY husband uses Linux and there are some issues, but not the same as with Windows. Mac are being attacked by virus writers as it become more popular.

I'd switch from IE as fast as possible as it attracts viruses. I only use IE when it is reguired (some government agencies make this a requirement). Chrome and Firefox have issues with viruses too, but not as many security holes as IE.

" I only use IE when it is reguired"
And a couple SS's require IE too. I use FF, and when I get to these situations nothing happens and I have to move over to IE for them. Most annoying -

Re: " I only use IE when it is reguired"
I'd find that a bit irksome as I (as do many others) use Macs and there is no version of "Exploder" for OS X.

Since you are, by your own admission, unaware of Florida notary laws, perhaps that is to your best advantage....keeps you out of trouble.

Re: " I only use IE when it is reguired"
Julianne -
There is a Firefox extension called IE View which allows you to designate certain websites that must use IE. Firefox will automagically open IE for you whenever you go to those pages, and then when you're done you're still in Firefox.
