How Do You Know If You Have Personal Messages on Not Rotary

From the home page, click on messages, on the right side there will be several options above messages, one is preferences, click and select either email or text to alert you when you have a new message.

it says whether I have messages or not.

What you described is how to be automatically notified when you get a PM.

Right. And I'm happy to see both these things pointed out to everyone so people wouldn't feel they have to announce it to the entire forum every time they send a so-called "private" message to someone else...
