Laptop vs tablet
Who in here uses their tablet more than their laptop?
I'm thinking about getting either the Samsung Galaxy Tab note or Samsung Note II.

Check out the
Surface - it runs on a computer processor and will run full versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint! It's pretty much a laptop in a tablet format.
I just got a Note II about 10 days ago and love it as a smartphone, but it doesn't replace my iPad or laptop.

I have the Samsung Galaxy III which is smaller than the Samsung note 2, other than that I am not sure there is a difference, at least from what i am reading, anyone know? I keep track of my appointments on it and really cant survive without it, but I also rely on my laptop at my office. I need both.

Well Im referring to the 10" Galaxy Tab note (comparable to Ipad), the SG Note II is a phone mini tablet (comes with stylus pen) and the SG III is a phone.
Im considering ditching my lovely Toshiba laptop of 4 lbs to get a Tablet that can be carried in my purse and be able to use just like my laptop.

I would never ditch my laptop because I like to type a lot more than I like to swype. (Swyping is faster than hunting and pecking on a phone keyboard. It's an Android thing.)
I have Note II and an Ipad. They all serve their purposes in a professional environment. I go a few places where there is no Verizon (IPad) and my Note II picks up the TMobile signal. My Note II also doubles as a great hot spot for a laptop or a Kindle Fire HD. It can also be a hotspot for my IPad if Verizon doesn't put out a strong signal. I love all of my toys (er, tools) and I use them at my office, watching movies, listening to audiobooks or just having fun.
Technology is good.

One thing to consider is a Windows tablet...
I just picked up a Dell Latitude 10 tablet. It's running Windows 8 Pro. So, basically, it's an ipad running Windows... and has a docking station, swappable batteries, an SD card slot, USB port, etc. It's a mini laptop in tablet form.
It's a bit slow... and the memory is limited, but I think that for some things it might be just perfect. I'm testing it right now to see if I can use it well enough for my eseals and such. I'm not sure it can handle all the software though... but I'm excited by it.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect solution to take my journal electronic, too... they exist, but they aren't terribly practical for mobile use yet, especially for CA notaries since we have to capture fingerprints. I would LOVe to ditch my paper journal and go electronic.

I have a Samsung Galaxy III phone, and end up using it
for emails, etc. on the go. I don't carry a laptop with me. I have heard that the new Windows phone is fantastic, and the MS Surface is also a cut above the rest. So much competition out there--hard to decide.

Great phone, MW.
I won't go to a Windows phone or tablet because I have my IPad and Android apps already and like them. I will only change if I have to.

I'm migrating from a 15" Windows 8 laptop to the Surface with Windows8 Pro. The main reason is portability. Granted it's only a 2lbs difference, but schleppin it around all day gets tiresome. I do miss the 10 key from the laptop. I do just about all billing and other clerical work from the Surface. It'll run all the programs I use most (word/excel/outlook). I even have a backup printer ready in the wing.
