Re: LSI - PREMIER LENDER SERVICES /PLS
I applied the other day to work for them, told them I was a notary loan signer in Los Angeles. They sent me an email with a questionnaire to fill out, which I did, and I sent it back. They then replied that they aren't accepting any new notaries in Los Angeles.
But I told them that's where I am in the first email!

If it was a MA property they prob asked you to sign
Because you are required to be an Atty in ma.

I explained that to them and they knew I am not an attorney.. I also am a full time paralegal so I knew what they were asking me to do was not right under Mass Laws.

Re: Please explain
They wanted me to sign the closing attorney affidavit... and as settlement agent.. and to verify information in the package .. was accurate.. I explained that my duties as a notary are just to verify that the signer was who they appeared to be.. when I refused to sign in those areas..or cross things off and put my name and sign that page.. the agent was rude.. and acted like I didnt know what I was doing.. I explained to her that I knew exactly what I was doing...and what they wanted me to do was just not right...under Mass Notary Rules ....I removed myself from the assignment.

did they specifically ask you to sign these or did you think
you were required to because the doc was in your package? please don't take offense to my question, Jozie, but I am a bit confused by your comments. There are often closing/settlement agent docs in a package that you don't sign.

Re: did they specifically ask you to sign these or did you think
i'm not taking offense at all.... I was told to cross off settlement agent and put my name and I was also told to cross off the attorney signature line and put my name.. I didnt assume anything I called them questioning what to do since their instructions were if you leave anything unsigned or returned incomplete that they would reduce the fee... I have done many signings and am familiar with the forms.. this company had a few extra forms.. and the agent requested I sign them.. I was told other notaries just cross things off and put their name.. just because they didnt know what they were doing and were dumb enough to do that then so be it.. but I wasnt about to

interesting! I have done signings for them and pass those
settlement agent docs by. clearly someone doesn't know what they are talking about! Can't imagine being asked by a closer to sign those. Unfortunately, I can imagine some scheduler saying this though. Does anyone stop to think what your signing such a form would say? that was rhetorical

Re: interesting! I have done signings for them and pass those
The scheduler had no clue what she was talking about ... when I questioned her she got defensive.. it was less of a headache ..as much as I hate passing up an assignment.. this was the first..
