Nations Direct

I am REALLY wanting to burn that bridge but have been taught not to burn bridges. They call back to back 5 times and then low ball and when they are finally do "get approval" for my price they want all of these fax backs and email you over and over again from different people to fax them back when I have told them it won't happen until I am back in the office. Can we all just say no????

It will be > 30 days!
And all of their handholding, it just isn't worth it.

That is one bridge most people don't cross in the first place, and I wouldn't hesitate to burn it with them. They are known in the industry as the ultimate low-ballers. That will continue as long as someone is willing to work for those ridiculous fees!

I learned very quickly how Nations and Global pays their notaries. They will meet your fees if they can't find anyone else. I still do work for them because they do pay like clockwork but it's only if they can meet my fees or it's got to be right around the corner for me. They don't hold my hand as much as they used to. I guess they felt they could cut some of the apron strings.

Lisa I think it is because they need you, there are only three notaries within 30 miles of you according to NR AND only six from that "other" site.

I only do their signing if they meet my fees and/or they can't find anyone. However, they got me last night. 173pgs times 2.......I sent them a nasty email, that I will send faxbacks when I'm ready and to take my name off their list. Haven't heard anything back. This is one bridge I can burn.....Burn Baby Burn.

I just came on here to complain about Nations Direct phone calls. I do not answer, but they call my house phone, then my cell, then my house, then my cell....it goes on and one for about 15 minutes. I just shake my head and laugh. Even if they met my fees, I cannot stand all the calls before, during and after the signing. I did so some for them when I started. but then I had someone call after the signing, but during that call someone else called to follow up on the same signing. That's when I stopped answering their calls.

I hear that often. So as long as they need me, meet my fee and don't make my hands sweat from holding them too long, I'll take the work.

I have had WF brokers call me and meet my fee

But it had to go through ND and had to wait over 60 days for payment. They are a PITA to deal with. You will get paid but takes a long time. So if you get 125 or more and need to wait 60 plus days not worth it.

Re: I have had WF brokers call me and meet my fee

I did a signing for them back in December or January on a Friday night. They could not get anyone....THEY MET MY FEE OF $275...yes $275 and I got paid on time.

They meet my fee or I don't go. Hand holding has deminished. Never a problem with payment. If I had a sales organization I would hire the schedulers. They seem to
handle rejection very well.

Wow! Happy I'm not the only one but sad so many people have stress because of them. I think I will raise my fee $25 just for them!! Fax back entire pkg, call me 20 times, email me 20 times... They are going to have to pay for that!

Gawd! I got a headache just reading....

the nightmare that is ND. Why don't you just all dump them and do your part to put these low-balling, hand-holding, sloow-paying losers out of business. Surely, you can't be that desperate that you'd put up with all their abuse! Just sayin ....

Re: Gawd! I got a headache just reading....

They have been trying to call me all day - about 7 or 8 times now. I ignore their calls. When they stop treating us all like novice notaries and pay us what we desire, maybe I will reconsider working for them.
When they can't find someone to do the work for this one, won't it be passed on to another notary service?
I'll probably get a call from someone else tomorrow!

I was doing TEA assignments for NNA and just found out Exostar signed contract with Nations Direct. In order to sign up for the TEA, there is a 14 page document to download, print, fill in, and e-mail back to them.... for signing agents. They are asking signing agents to do signings for $40 apiece. Really! It is on their paperwork. It's too bad because the TEA kept me going when the signings slowed down a few years back.

At least one call a week for a signing that is "in my area" (relative term). They always want to negotiate my fee, which I will not do, especially when there is distance involved. You are better off just politely declining with this outfit. Eventually they will stop calling you.
