Newbie - Should I be concerned ...

...if a signing company only wants me to complete a W9? They are not asking for me to sign a contract or requiring any of my documentation.

Don't worry - be happy! That's enough, don't you agree?

I haven't signed a contract in 4 years. A W9 is plenty. I also send a copy of my Certificate and E&O insurance.

No, but if you put your agreed fees in writing in a contract

doesn't that protect you when and if they short you. Also I would want it spelled out what they pay for a print fee and/or a trip fee if the borrower is a no show and/or if they pay regardless of whether the loan closes. Some of this I learned the hard way, but NOT having a contact.

Re: No, but if you put your agreed fees in writing in a contract

You should be requesting a confirmation for each signing you perform which has your required fee and payment terms.

I receive confirmation of my fees but none put all the terms

in. In think they are generic to everyone. So yours do?

Carol, do you request a signed copy of all those contracts?

If you do not have one with the other party's wet signature, it is not a contract, in my opinion. I think that contracts with a signing services are a joke and a one way contract...to bind the notary up on all kinds of silly things.

Some I have some not. I tend not to sign those not to my

benefit

I feel the exact same way. I can change all I wish, and neve

get any further response from them, nor signed copy, so I figure that it is best to have none at all.

What I do though is upon receipt of confirmation, I shoot back an email stating my terms and what I am doing for them for that chunk of change.

Someone else here put theirs on the forum, I copied and now use it w/slight modification, also noting that they should object now prior to me doing any work at all, including printing, and that they should recognize this exchange via acknowledgement of my email.

So easy to do and have everything clear, up front.

They don't send the copies back, in my experience.

Certainly not by mail.

No they don't. They do respond to my email

accepting my terms.

Curious. How many sign the agreements that are sent in the

doc package?
