I just turned back a signing when I got the confirmation from notaries express in CA that they can no longer afford to pay if the loan doesnt fund! Excuse me? Please let me do all the work, print up the docs and drive to timbucktoo and perform a lengthy service for you for nothing. Last month I had 2 loans that did not fund through lender error with a large title agency that had to be re-drawn and re-signed. They would not dream of expecting me to take all the risk.

I dont know about the rest of the country, but here in Wisconsin, we dont do signings on commission. That is rendering us a party to the loan, which is not impartial, and illegal.

If a signing agency hasnt got the backing capital to pay for services rendered, they need to do the jobs themselves until they do. What hubris!

Well, another SS bites the dust. They've made a deal with the escrow/title co's not to charge for loans that don't successfully close and fund.

Not very competitive, or compelling to want to work with them, is it?

Another one for my "no-no list".

Good for you! I won't even accept the ones where they say

they'll only pay you a trip/print fee if it doesn't close.
