Okay Julie/MI...it finally happened...
I FINALLY had a truly Quicken loan signing - 30 minutes start to finish, including identifying and journal.
Wish all my signigs were like that...what a treat.

Also had a Qucken signing today and one tomorrow. Love these - so easy and fast. No drama here.

LOL...little wise guy.. :)
It was all the signers, believe, me - all I ever got out of my mouth was "and this is the No.." and it was signed..."and this is your Mor.." and it was being signed...LOL

When that happens...
shut mouth, flip pages, point. They know what they're doing. Done!

I hope you do not take this in the wrong way.
IMHO - it is posts just like yours and Julie's that lead the signing companies to believe that people should accept the $50.00 fee that they offer for Quicken loan signings.
One has no way of knowing in advance how long any signing will take until they are on site - some people don't read anything and then there are others who read every word and then the middle ground who only read the important documents.

All due respect but Title Source and Quicken both
know exactly how long their packages should take - they don't need to read anything here.
My comment was simply in follow up to a previous post I made that I'd never had a 30 minute Quicken loan - mine normally are 45 minutes to an hour....
Also for the record - I've never been offered $50 for a Quicken loan - ever. In fact, I've never been offered less than $100.

Re: All due respect but Title Source and Quicken both
Again, no disrespect intended - but - if you have never been offered less than $xxx to do a Quiken signing then you obviously have never received a call from : Nations Direct, or JMT who both offer 50 - 60 for Quicken loans - there are a few others that offer 65-75.

Oh, I've received calls from those companies..
as soon as I hear it's them, I'm not available. I don't waste time on the phone with them because I know I'm not working with them. I don't have time for companies that don't want to pay me for the work I do and the expertise I bring to the table.

Re: All due respect but Title Source and Quicken both
I get paid way more than $50.00 for Quicken closings, there is no reason to take work from companies paying those low fees unless you just want to stay busy. Personally, I prefer to make a profit more than just staying busy. I get 5-8 Quicken closing per week.
One other thing that I've noticed about the low paying SS's, they are the ones that have you jumping through hoops, like call when you leave for the closing, call when you arrive at the closing, call when you leave the closing, fax back the critical docs, wait for approval, call when you drop the docs. Absurd procedures when all they have to do is pay a reasonable fee and hire professional experienced NSA's. Then they could spend their time marketing instead of hand holding.

Re: All due respect but Title Source and Quicken both
Like Linda, the going rate I've had for a Quicken Loan is $100. I accept that because it's short and sweet. My base rate for a re-fi is $125, but will accept $100 for Quickens.

Not specific to this comment but people who get on this
board and say they do 5 to 8 signings a day at less than 30 minutes each @$$$ rumor has it has caught some attention. I think that is the minority and not the norm for most of us.

Reply by Linda_H/FL on 2/28/13 9:16pm Msg #458636
You're right Carol - it's not the norm for me at all
today was an exception to the rule for me - most of mine take time - but I do get over $100 for them or I don't do them. Time, travel and logistics of my area warrant it.
And if this was directed to me at all, I think you know if you've followed my posts that I don't do 5-8 closings in a day - I've never had that many - I'm lucky if I do that many each month.

Not directed to you at all linda which was why I
said not specific to this comment. It just seemed like an appropriate time to reiterate that closings under an hour are not the norm for most of us. Most my files have 3 ID forms. Those and my journal are 15 minutes alone. 2 borrowers signing 40 to 70 pages, do my notarizations, check all docs. My head spins how anyone can get those done in 30 minutes.

Re: Not directed to you at all linda which was why I
For one appointment I had this evening, it took me 30 minutes just to replace all the notary certificates and prep the very few that were correct. (I try to do that ahead of time whenever possible to reduce time at the table.) This was one of those title co's where nearly everything needed to be notarized - and all the certs were unacceptable for my state. And I won't even get started on the number of docs. I seldom see anything under 80 pages anymore (or even close to that) unless it's a seller's pkg. Even most Quicken packages I've seen have been more than that with the title docs.

nothing like a thrill kill....
just a light hearted moment turned into doom and gloom.
JMT has been $50 and $75 for edocs since 2003, a post on a message board is going to jeopardize anyone's closing fees, XYZ was in charge of that.
And yes, some of us DO close 7+ loans a day that are not TS and it's all in your presentation.
I had a personal refi many years ago and the closer, an older woman, had a brief case on wheels and I'm thinking what the hell does she have in there? My husband begged me to not make her nervous, her "set up" with stapler, pen case was going to make me late for the other closings I had to get to and I just simply told her to give me the stack, I was a closer myself and I just passed her the pages that had to be notarized. I was done in 10 mins.
If you begin with HUD and tell them all the terms of the loan are in there (which they are) and most say honey we've been there done that, just show me where to sign and date. I couldn't stretch out the time any longer.
ON the Citi harp loans, I fill in the borrower ID form while they are initialing their mortgage, I try to do all the busy work so we are all moving. It's in the technique and presentation. I couldn't be in this business for this long if customers were complaining about me.
No one is rushed, no one is clueless or in the dark. It's just simple efficiency at the closing.

I agree with Julie.
45 minutes is my average, but there are some that take longer due to calls to the Lender or TC.
