Scanning with ScanSnap 1500

Several months ago I purchased the Scan Snap 1500 and never installed it because I was "renovating" my hone office. I actually finished a while ago but just today instaled the ScanSnap scanner. Wow. I cannot believe the speed of this scanner. And the options. It is unbelievable. Crazy.

Yay!! Another convert... really that is one of

the best document scanners out there for our business, among other things. It does have some minor limitations, but nothing I haven't been get around. And it's wonderful for fax/scan back situations. AND... what many don't realize, that even though it is expensive it also comes with the FULL version of Adobe Acrobat software which alone is several hundred dollars.

Sometimes, you just have to invest little bit of money to get the right tool to ultimately improve your productivity. It's worth saving for.

This is my take on scan/fax backs.

WHY should we be spending this kind of $$ on a scanner. If you think about it, why should we ever have to scan back more than the criticals for funding? You can't convince me that they really need the entire pkg for funding for purchases. The rest of the time when we are asked to fax back docs, its to check our work. I won't even go there. Fax backs should consist of the Hud, Til, Mortgage/Deed, Riders, Note. This should be no more than 25 pages and less if they just want the 1st, Sign and notarized pages of Mortgage. This should be no more than around 20 pages. They are putting this expense on us for no reason and not willing to pay for it. It would take me a long time to pay for this scanner because I rarely (unless a purchase) and I mean RARELY will I even do fax backs.

To Liinda..Why should anyone spend money other than basic

needs. Thing makes you more efficicient and your life easier. That said, everyone has their own priorities. As for faxbacks, I would prefer NEVER to have to do them. But you have a client who gives you a lot of business "I" feel it is a no-brainer. Part of doiing business. Whether there should be more than 20 pages is not my call, unfortunately.

I purchased this for other reasons btw. But let me tell you I used this scanner for the first time today for faxbacks. Thirty-nine pages. I loaded them. Legal/letter and pressed the scan button and WOW. I could not believe it. It was faster than scanning say, I don't know less than 10 pages on my 6310 at 200 dpi. I am not suggesting everyone run out an buy one. I am just saying that faxbacks would be less of an issue if you do have one.

Bottom line: "I" think it is an incredible product. I have had it for months. And I regret I did not set it up before yesterday. That is all.

As for what we should or should not have to do in this business, Ah another story. Smile

Is anyone using with Windows Vista Home or iPhone 5?

I have products already that say compatible with Windows Vista and iPhone 5, but you have to download additional software to get them to work correctly and is a bit more time consuming. Thanks
