Speedy Closing & Title Services, Inc.
I received an assignment today from this company and in doing some research I haven't found very good reviews. I was wondering if anyone has done any recent work from them and if they had any issues? Thank you

Linked for you - there's postings from January, 2013
That should be recent enough for you to come to a decision.

I've done closings for them, they pay sometimes slow but they do pay. They are not big payers. Usually 80.00 to 85.00. I close for them if they are close to my house.

Looks to me like all they have are issues. Mostly nonpayment.

When a company has been shady for YEARS, chances are a tiger
will not change his stripes. (is that the saying? lol)
Unless you like doing charity work, do yourself a favor and turn around and run like hell. Just my very humble opinion.

Ok I email Frank and explained that I couldn't do the closing do to his past with other notary's and the constant nonpayments. He stated before I drop the package he will pay with paypal. I guess I will give this company a chance. Thank you everyone for the information this has been a great way to stay up to date with companies and problems. Have a super day :-)

You have been warned! Why should you have to sacrifice evne a penny in PayPal charges.
Help drive this guy out of business and tell him to pack sand.

Michelle:
You come on here to ask about other notaries' experience with a particular company. Thanks to Linda's guidance in the process, you are led to seeing for yourself the VERY POOR experience of others with this company. It isn't just one or two notaries with a grudge. No. Its' the same experience of numerous people.
So, let me get this straight. After reading for yourself how others have been mistreated and abused, you have decided to help keep Speedy in business by accepting to work the assignment and make them money. Did I get it right???

Priceless!!
"He stated before I drop the package he will pay with paypal"
Of course he will - and if he doesn't??? You've already done the job, you're holding executed documents that you MUST drop no matter what happens - and he's laughing his a** off cuz he GOTCHA!!
Sometimes you just can't save people from themselves, I guess.
Good grief.

Yes, always ask for Paypal if payment history is no good...
This is the option I offer clients with bad reviews, and then they can rebuild their reputations with positive posts if they have integrity.

Felise, with companies like this one, they need not have
notaries work for them period. Why keep them in business? There are those that may just have fallen on hard times, but businesses with this type of business methodology should not even be considered whether its by paypal or personal delivery of cash.
The goal in the long run is to give these companies as much respect as they do us. Boycott them so that their listings will be available with a better more reputable company. It just won't happen if people continue on with that mentality of covering them with prepayment.
Guess what everyone, they don't have a business without us!!!!!

And PayPal is you friend? It keep these lowballers in business. It keep this type of business in business to not pay more Notarys. You do understand that this/any thing done on PayPal can be disputed and if it is, you lose.

I didn't know that about paypal. I guess I will have to stick to my guns then and decline the work. I do appreciate the feedback.

I've never been paid by paypal before. I really didn't know. I've never worked for companies that haven't paid me because I usually do my homework before I go out.

No only are you keeping Frank in business, you are taking money that is owed to other notaries. There is NO WAY that Speedy (not) has been paid for the closing you accepted, it is money that was for another closing that the notary was probably not paid on yet. We need to stand together to drive the non-payers, slow payers and low-ballers out. JMHO.

Michelle, the message is that if you work for this company,
you are condoning past, present and future fraud perpetrated by this company.
I'm not sure how long you've been in this business (and it doesn't matter so please don't think I'm being condescending) but if you are inquiring as to the integrity of a company that has had LOOOOONG time NEGATIVE comments due to their unscrupulous business dealings, I would venture to say you are fairly new to the industry.
Nonetheless, we have a responsibility, in my opinion, to not cohort with those types of companies. After all, I'm sure you would never want to unknowingly be defrauded. If we keep these companies in business by getting their signings closed successfully, it keeps them in business to steal and cheat others. In reality, that money that you are being paid is actually someone else's pay. Since he's not gotten paid for it yet, it IS someone else's pay. He's got to make up for it somehow.
I implore you to reconsider covering the closing for that company. Don't be suckered into believing the wolf in sheep's clothing. The good thing is that he's desperate enough to HAVE to pay in advance. That closing will most likely go to a fair paying (PAYING) company. Hold out for the PAYING company to call you with it.

I have done several closings for Speedy Closing in the last couple years, had no problems with them. Frank seems to be a very easy to deal with, he don't pay as quickly as some other Co. but I have gotten paid without any problems!Had a signing where I had to go to the wife's place of employment to get her signature, when I told him about the additional travel, he added a fair amount to the signing fee! I will do any signings he send my way!!!

I took one from them. Printed the docs went to the address and the signed said he understood he was the only one to sign. The bank called about that time and rescheduled the appointment for the next day. Frank offered $40.00 for travel and printing. Very upsetting, because I did my part and spent my time gas printing and energy. Did the closing today, but I will rethink the next one.
