Title Companies and Non-Paying signing Agency
Why is it, that a title company can hire a fly-by-night signing agency, who stiffs their notaries, and they are not help responsible for payment?
Lawsuits are about deep pockets, and everyone gets sued...so, how do title companies get off the hook for their bad vendors?

Sometimes I dont think the Title comps know they are working with a bad SS......and as long as folks keep taking the closings from said SS's, they will stay in business....
If you can, work directly for the Title Comps, then you will bypass all of this hassle......easier said than done sometimes though.....

Sorry for the rant. LOL. But it seems like I'm getting stiffed more and often, as more bad players enter. It is very frustrating to put time and money into a job well done, then not to get paid.
But, ... rant over. :>)

Cheryl ~ whenever possible, always check the hiring company here on Signing Central. If at the time of the call, you happen to not have computer access. Check 'em out as soon as you can get to a computer. Then, if you find they have a poor reputation, don't be afraid to turn that signing back - even if you've already confirmed with borrowers. If you've already confirmed with borrowers, you may want to call them and let them know someone else will be contacting them. No need to go into the particulars.

The title Co don't know about non-paying SS unless YOU tell them. When you get a confirmation, jot down the name & number of the Title Co (The info will be on the Settlement Statement). If you don't get paid, let the Title Co know, be a squeaky wheel.
