dodged a bullet/thnx NotRot......The Signing Wiz
Called and said he pays 45 days.......claimed to have 3 star rating here. Offered $100 saying he only gets $125. I turned him down based on horrible reviews going back for years. How do these deadbeats manage to stay in business?????? The title companies phone has to be ringing off the hook with calls from unpaid notaries. You would think they would ditch the guy.

I do not really believe the title companies care that much when the notary does not get paid. They just move on to another SS who has a group of notaries ready. Just my opinion.

Some of the newer/less experienced folks probably are not yet members of NotRot, or haven't bothered to check out the companies for which they agree to work, so they (the Notaries Public) unwittingly accept assignments. They then learn, the hard way.

I took the gamble the other day! Uuugg. He said the exact same thing to me. Looked him up while on the phone with him, then after. It was 50/50 from what I saw. I was oh so close to not taking it but then caved. We shall see!

I did in fact get paid! They've expressed interest in earning a better rating. All communications with them actually went very well. I lucked out I guess!

I just emailed inquiring about payment for 1/30/13. I can't recall why I accepted in the first place, seeing their ratings now. Maybe I had turned back too many after accepting and was tired of the arguing. (You know it's always the notaries fault that don't get paid b/c we are all too silly to remember to send a W-9....at least that's what I always hear...)
