how does one look up a business entity?

Is there an easy way to do it? Can you look up by EIN? Do you have to know which state they are located in and go from there?

Are you trying to 'skip-trace'?

Is it a licensed entity (title agency, for example)? You can find most licensed entities at their home-state's licensing dept. online. You can also Google and see if they pop up in Hoover's. I don't think you can access anyone's info through the IRS w/out a signed consent form.
