problems attaching files to email

Two days ago my computer was off when I got up in morning, probably an upgrade during night. Now I cannot attach any files to my emails. It starts to attach then stops. I have tried using google chrome instead of the older version but neither works. I have run virus scans but nothing pops up. Any suggestions from the more tech savy out there.

Do you use webmail or Outlook? Have you contacted your email service provider?

If issues started after update(s), have you tried to restore your system to a point prior to that update?

Are the files you're trying to attach in Adobe? It may be another Adobe issue.

How long has it been since you cleared your Cache?

Not tech savy. Just throwing some thoughts out there.

I always start with the least invasive and work up from there. Clean out the cache. Delete any temporary files. Look at your installed programs and see if something you don't recognize has snuck in a back door around the time you started experiencing problems, and if so, uninstall that. Restart everything. Possible re-install email, if you are not using webmail. Contact your provider and if that doesn't work, do the restore, but not until after you have made a backup. It's kind of like getting a bad stain out--start with cold water, then go to hot, then up to soaps, bleachers, oxidzers....

The last time this happened to me I uninstalled the last update (from a Windows machine). I knew I could always reinstall the update. I then reinstalled each update ONE AT A TIME until I found the offending update that caused the problem. I've also done this programs to solve a similar issue.
