I see no one has responded to this.
I just contacted SettlementPrep for a Notary application package. They sent me their "Performance Agreement" as a PDF attached to an email. When I opened it, the only thing viewable was the letterhead, the rest of the form was gibberish, blurred boxes.
I wrote back and told them, and they sent another copy, exactly the same, but also a Word version of it.
I am a new notary, but I did just take a loan signing class, so it's all pretty fresh in my mind. I do not recall talking about anything like what they're asking.
The agreement calls for getting all kinds of loan information for the company.
Here's the list:
Photo ID's 30 Days of Most Recent Paystubs 2011 W2s/1099s 2010 W2s/1099s 2011 Fed Tax Returns (borrower MUST SIGN page 2) 2011 Fed Tax Returns (borrower MUST SIGN page 2) 2 months most recent bank statements mortgage statements Proof of funds for Settlement Payment
Additional Documentation needed for Non-W2 income (If applicable):
Rental Agreements Social Security Benefits Letter Unemployment Pay Stubs Year-To-Date Profit and Loss Statement 2011 & 2010 Business Tax Returns
The documents can be emailed or faxed.
Here is the last paragraph:
SETTLEMENT PREP shall remit the $75 fee within 15 business days of confirmation that the pack has been completed. (We do not need originals mailed back to us, upon receiving a complete file via fax or email, we will ask you to shred the documents). The $75 fee will be paid upon completion of receiving a file (if a borrower cancels, there will be no added fees for calling a client or printing of pages). Please sign and return this document prior to contacting the borrower.
Are they serious?! I guess they expect you to do all that gathering as well as the signing, all for $75??
