BEWARE of Epic Signing Service - poor business ethics

I was contacted by a Brandi Linden from this business and agreed to do a closing three days later, on a Saturday. The documents were not emailed despite me calling and emailing this business. I contacted the Borrowers to apologize for not being able to come to their home as scheduled. I never heard back from my calls or emails. I called the Borrowers again and the closing was rescheduled with another notary. I called and registered a complaint with the Manager responsible for closings.

Who work with these low pay, unprofessional companies. Look at there rating on this site and read their ratings. Time and time again there has been numerous discussion about these companies. They spell trouble.

Their pay was 125-135 or do we have to say xxx?? Well, anyway, the pay is as good as or better than most, but they take easily 65-90 days to pay. That is why I don't work for them anymore.

Actually, Epic fired ME.

I accepted an Epic closing last year while on the road, then failed to check SC for their rating. By the time I did, I felt it was too late to cancel ethically, so I did the closing. They paid me within three weeks. Over the next few months, I did about half a dozen closings for them; they paid within 16 days to 2 1/2 months. Then I miscalendared a closing. When I called the borrower to confirm, the closing had been completed by another notary because I had failed to show at the appointed time.

That's not something that I think I should let pass. I told Epic that I understood I would not be doing closings for them in the future, but for my own professional pride I would like to do a closing without charge. They accepted that offer, I did the closing, and I haven't heard from them since.

I may be the only supposedly reputable notary on this board who's been fired by a lowballing bottom feeder.

Hugh, the only way to be outstanding in your field is to be the only one in it!

Congratulations!
