Citi

Its only my own experience, but if its a citi loan, docs are almost always late. I won't repost what I do when this happens, but the most recent experience I had, they did not even tell me that the signing was cancelled. Three hours of calls to them and finally they tell me its cancelled. I would like to hear what other say on this.

You are right, you can count on Citi docs being late. Had a similar situation to yours last night. 6 PM closing, no docs by 5 PM. Call the coordinator and she said they were waiting on the lender. She said she would call me back in 10 minutes. 10 minutes came and went - no call all night. I can only assume this cancelled. I sent emails up until 7 PM, none were answered. I left word for the borrower at 6 PM that I had not received docs. They never called back so I can only assume they knew it was cancelled.

I haven't signed many Citi loans but I have two on the books for a large national TC that goes by three initials. One of them is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) so I was hoping to have docs tonight.

When this TC calls, I have begun asking who the lender is and I decline orders from Third Federal, Freedom Mortgage, and BOA for the same reasons you mentioned. I may have to add Citi to that list - we'll see. I no longer accept orders with those lenders because I will not allow them to take up time slots on my schedule when they so often do not keep the appointment, and like you said - no communication!

And my experience last night with Citi was also with the large national service with three initials. I still have not received even a courtesy call letting me know last night's signing cancelled. All emails also went unanswered.

Judy....

That TC has done that to me so many times - so frustrating! Different teams handle things differently. That's why I now screen the calls for which lender it is. They are one of my lowest payers so there is not a lot of incentive for me to put up with that stuff. Sad thing is, they have a huge database and we notaries are expendable to them.

The 3 letter tc only seems

to call me anymore when it is very last minute (no one else available i guess) and they say docs are ready can you go now. i have no volume with them anymore so i don't play the print and run game for them.
