Deals on replacement drum?
Happy Monday! I recently bought a brother HL5370DW laser printer and I'm loving it. It is now time to replace the drum and the Brother DR620 drum is around $100 bucks. I saw online that you can buy refurbished drums or generic ones for $40? I did that with ink one time and got swindled as it bleed everywhere and didnt have as many uses as was advertised. Should I go down this road with the drum or just suck it up and buy the right one? Thanks for your input!

I bought some from www.supermediastore.com and it has more than 30K pages and it still prints great. But make sure it is Linkyo brand. I bought some from amazon and they only lasted less than 10K one of them was returned and amazon gave me full credit. I hope this info will be helpful.

Didn't even know those refills existed! Thanks for that tip. As far as the op drum replacement, there is a way to fake out your brother printer into thinking you replaced it. I did that months ago and haven't had any problems but I have a back up for that dreadful moment when I need it.
To fake out your printer search here for brother settings, I think just brother and drum.

I order from Supermediastore or suppliesoutlet. They have the best deals and never had a problem with their products.

FWIW
SuperMediastore.com is the store front, online and physical, for a manufacturer, LINKYO, that has compatables for Brother. Decent quality in my experience, so far NO problems. Last order was 2x TN-650, and one DR-620 drum roller replacement package. Total $49.95 less 20% (email coupon)= $39.95, free shipping, no tax. I'd sooner order from a manufacturer/store front that has something to lose to bad publicity/service. The above EBAYer says "Guaranteed" but doesn't state what. And a free plastic glove? Are their drums messy? Their should be NO mess with a drum or replacement toner cart.

I have a BR MFC and bought a refurbished drum...the
only thing that I found troubling at first, was saying I needed to replace my drum, after I installed the new one...but it somehow went away...
sometimes the chip that is inserted into these, like toner cartridges, can't be reprogrammed...at least that is what I was told by the company that sold me the product...but I've had it for what 6 months and no issues with it...thank goodness...

C: that's not the drum that is causing the replacement message, it is the printer message needing to be reset. I believe it is, install new DR in machine, DON'T close door, push START button, 3,4,5 times, close door and it will reset.

Try SuperMediaStore.com. I get toner carts & drums
from them for a HL-5240 & have been happy with the quality. BTW, I used to buy from LD Products. You can also try there.
