Fair Payment
I am new to this industry. What is considered a "fair payment price?" Most of the companies out there are offering $50-60. I think that is decent, but as I gain more experience, I hope to get paid for it.

I have heard of companies offering these fees but have never encountered it. The going rate is more like $125-$175 for seasoned NSAs with Title Producer Licenses and industry knowledge. Good luck and do your research. There are the lowballers that prey on newbies. Beware!

You will go broke at $50 -$60 dollars a signing! Even if the signing are next door.

Although you may be new to the industry, your services are worth the same as any experienced Notary. It may well take you a little longer to complete a closing as well as a few butterflies in the stomach but the end result is that the job gets done. Don't let the low ball companies take advantage. During any closing, if you have any questions, just call whatever number they give and let them answer it for you. Read everything possible about closings as well as read this board every day. There's a lot to learn here.

I agree - my first closing I got paid $150 which did include about an hour of travel.

OMG!!! I don't go out of my home for less than $100. $50 wouldn't even cover printer, toner, paper, gas, time, etc.
Don't ever work for a company that on pays those crumbs....send the loan to India for signing!

Whatever the market will bear works both ways. If you're willing to accept $65, then they know that market is ripe for the picking and they keep coming back until you wise up and that market dries up. Then, they're on to the next victim/newbie.

Please do not support cos. that offer those ridiculous fees.
Also, check out cos. in Signing Central. Often the ones that offer the low fees also don't pay!

I won't put on pantyhose for less than $100 (refi, no edocs) or $150 (refi w/ edocs). Price is higher for an RM.
It's my pantyhose fee. I have to paid amply to wear them. But then, I've been doing this for 10 years. I think my fees are kind of low.
