HP 2430TN help
Ref msg449015 I also bought one of the printers
I have set up my printer, only two problems one second tray came with a large crack (no big deal can use that wonder tool duct tape)
Prints fast and no streaking but there is a bad grinding sound coming from where cartridge is seated. Have reset cartridge and have tried a new cartridge with no success. Open for suggestions. I have a call into company but they are closed on Sunday/

That happens to mine on occasion, but it usually just does it for a moment and either stops and says "paper jam" (even though there isn't one) or the noise just stops and the printer keeps on truckin'.

I have that on occasion from my 1320. I just play with it. It goes away after a while. Did it come with a cartridge?

I have an HP 4200 that made the same noise and turned out I needed to replace the swing arm gear, near the fuser. Not very easy but if your handy you can do it. Go to the following website and they have a youtube video you can follow. www.brokenprinter.com BTW- No more grinding noise!

Thanks. I contacted vendor they are sending a replacement. Claim problem caused by UPS but box from UPS in perfect condition. Will see how second one works.
