Cheryl,

I fear it's too late for me. I had a BO with some strain he says he caught in Mexico last Monday and I feel shakey and feverish tonight. Sweating as I stare at my homework.

Good luck out there. Stay healthy!

bummer...drink lots of fluids, skip eating solids for a few days, lots of green tea with pomegranet and lots of sleep. Chkn broth if you get hungry. Hope it passes fast.

I am on day 20 of having the influenza virus, and am still not feeling 100%. I feel much better than I did, but my sinuses are still bothering me, I still have a little bit of the cough, and I am still very fatigued. According to my doctor, these are all normal signs of the strain and the intensity of this virus.

Emily, you should definitely get to your doctor first thing in the morning and demand to be treated with Tamiflu. From what I have heard, Tamiflu is only effective if given within the first couple of days of the onset of your symptoms. I was too far into it for Tamiflu to have been effective for me. It's not too late for you.....and especially if the borrower caught his strain in Mexico.

One of my friends got influenza and because she had just recovered from cancer, and she went to the doctor right away, they immediately gave her Tamiflu and it knocked it out of her system in three days.

Please keep us posted. I hope you feel better soon.

I bought some masks. the way the Flu is going around here, I need to be careful. So when I get there I ask if anyone has had the flu or a bad cold the last few weeks. I am hopeing I don;t need to use them, but just in case. the other night we went to do a signing and the borrower had the FLU. kept getting up from the table to throw up. Just saying.... one extra safty messure.

I get a flu shot each year. The last two years I have not gotten the flu (knock on wood). The year before that, I did catch the flu but the down time was only two days - as opposed to the time I caught the flu without the flu shot and was down for 10 days. Echinacea, theraflu, and chicken broth help get thru the down time.

I have a pretty great immune system. I am still hoping I might pull out of it. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Smile

I have had a couple of hot toddys. Made me feel a bit better, but they are not helping with my school work.

Had a signing where I wish I had had a mask. Both were very sick; put my pens in their mouth, etc. I *obviously* left the pens with them; used lots of hand sanitizer when I got back to the car - and sanitized my steering wheel too. Eat well, sleep well, and try not to over-tax your body.

" Eat well, sleep well, and try not to over-tax your body."

I agree - this is the best plan anyone can have. If we don't take care of #1, who will?
