Mobile Notaries in Georgia

I know that Georgia is an Attorney only State, but what can a mobile notary do legally and is it worth keeping my liscence? Can I make money there?

Did you happen to check on what Georgia notaries

can charge? You're in for a culture shock if you haven't yet - $2.00 per notarization - that's a far cry from the $10/signature in CA. http://www.gsccca.org/projects/galaw.asp

Only you can answer that question because only you know what your situation/standard of living will be there. Don't for a minute think it's that much cheaper in this area. Housing is lower, but everything else is right on par with the rest of the country (although I do recall GA gasoline prices are a bit lower too).

Good Luck.

I Love Georgia Signings

I don't know what it is, but I've had five Georgia signings here in New Mexico in the last two months. Probably because we have a lot of military folks here that want to refi their house in GA.

All I do is get the Georgia Attorney (they all have been really well-spoken and friendly with that southern accent) on the telephone (the borrower's phone of course) and the attorney goes through the forms I've brought along. His are in the same order as mine. He does all the talking and question answering.

I sit there, smile a lot, point to the signature line, and notarize where necessary. Getting the witness is a bit pesky, but one can usually find a neighbor to help out. Easy loans!
