Signing agent trainging course at community college?
Has anyone taken a signing agent course at community college? Regional courses being offered in my area are Bucks county community college & at Burlington county community college. I like the Burlington county college course cause it is an all day course versus the Bucks county community college course which is a half day for the same price. How were your experiences or where did you receive training?

I highly recommend Notary2Pro.com where you can learn at your own pace and have someone you can call if you need help. You also get sample docs and your name gets sent to a lot of companies once you graduate. I can't say for certain many jobs I have gotten because of this, and money made because of the jobs, but definitely many, many times more than the cost of the program.

I took mine by Bryce Hall at Northern Virginia Community College back in I think 2007 (I think). It was a half day for the signing agent and a half day for the Notary basics. It was ok. I had already had training elsewhere so I didnt really learn anything new. But it was nice to be in a class. I think there were only 5 other students. By this time I had already done at least 100 closings when I took the course. Since then I have not seen her offer it at the colleges but she does still provide classes locally at other locations. I usually refer other notaries to her if they are in her area. I still get newsletters from her and I know she does a TIPIC class too which I think I might take as well.

I can't comment on any specific program, but I believe that since there is no officially recognized certification or licensing for being a signing agent - at least in all areas I've heard about - anyone can claim to be an expert and decide to give classes. When I first became a notary, I found someone who was advertising notary training (not the NNA) who may have known his notary laws but he was an AWFUL teacher!!

I've never actually taken a training course to be a signing agent. I just paid to take the test and passed. I have heard that they can be too generic to actually be helpful in real live situations. That may not be true for them ALL, of course.

Oh, great! Letting the general public know about signing agents so they can compete with the rest of us! I want to remain "special".

Funny that I have gotten at least 2 calls from "googlers" (I'm guessing) asking me about notary classes! 1 was just this week. I really don't understand the world of seo, but WHERE are they getting that? Nothing in my ads or web says anything about classes. Maybe it's about the business name?
p.s. I had absolutely No knowledge of the SS world when I established my "corporate identity"

I've received e-mails asking me to add them to my
database of notaries for their area...same with me - nothing in my listings indicate I'm a TC or SS or that I hire notaries.
