Software for spliting Docs for printing
Can someone tell me the name of the software that can split a package of legal and letter size docs for printing. I have two separate printers with one tray each. Thanks.

Re: Think it's called "Page Separator"
It is owned by Flex signing and they have filed bankruptcy

It is Page Separator. I got it to use on my single tray should my HP4350 goes down. Tried it out and it is easy to use and does not take much extra time.

I use the software "page separator pro." It was created by Flex, which is in bankruptcy. I would expect that this product will continue to be sold as someone will buy the rights from the company in bankruptcy (if it is smart). We just need to wait and watch the process for Flex continue to see what happens.

Where and how do we order this now? Can we use this on a MAC that doesn't seem to have the choice to select sizes per the PDF like I see on my printing page for my PC?

Re: I think page separator is faster because my printer does
not have to change paper sizes as it prints. The program merges all the docs then separates them into short and long paper so you print all of one then the other. Plays heck with the original order of the docs but so far no complaints. Plus, one drawer printers are a lot cheaper - like me.

Their website is still active. I don't think it would be appropriate to post the URL here, but just google "page separator software" (without the quotes) - it's the first one that comes up. It's possible that they may continue to sell it.

It is indeed Page Separator. I use the Pro version to print out a stacking order page and it assists immeasurably in reassembling the packet. (That and it's a tax write off per my father's accountant that used to work for the IRS)

Instead of using Page Separator, if you can afford a new printer, get a Brother HL-5470DWT. It is a dual tray printer that chooses the correct paper as the PDF requires. Make sure you set up the second tray properly for legal and check the box to chose paper source by PDF. Now you just hit print and it does all the work for you. You can find it on-line delivered for around $325. It's worth the cost in saved time and aggravation.

Mike. I use and like page separator but I do have interest in a dual tray printer in the future. The dual tray will keep all the docs in order? And do you ever have any issues with it printing the wrong size?

Hodgy, yes, it prints the package exactly as it was scanned by title. Every once in a while a legal sized doc like a HUD will not be scanned correctly and default to printing as letter size. If it shows an odd size when you hit print (not 8.5x14), before saying OK, go into preferences and change settings in the advanced tab for scaling to "Fit to size" and choose legal. It will only apply to that print job, then default back to "Off". Anyone reading this will LOVE this printer. Just learn how to use it properly.
