TC calls & starts complaining about all the errors
I made in the notary section by not initialing the strike outs that I had made. I explain to them that I hadn't made any strike outs on my ack. and they started yelling about me not accepting the mistakes that I had made. I informed them that the closing was a split closing and that I signed the Husband in Orlando and then forwarded the docs to a Texas notary to sign the wife where the property was located. All of the docs had Texas notary certificates on them and I simply attached Florida acknowledgements for the Husband's signatures so I hadn't stuck any of the wording in the Texas acknowledgements. She pulls out the docs and realized that the escrow agent had been complaining about the wrong notary and spent 5 minutes apologizing to me over their error. It was the Texas notary that screwed up and I left those acknowledgements alone because I thought it would make his job easier. Yes, the Texas notary was a man. The TC sent me a $30.00 gift card for an apology, a totally welcome surprise. Proving that it pays to do quality checks on your work.
