Watching a webcast of Dodd-Frank/CFPB Rules
discussion by the Practicing Law Institute. Very interesting information, the majority regarding CFPB rules that go into effect in January 2014 that they are still taking input from those who are affected. Comments were made that the majority of commentors are lenders and brokers, and it's suggested that other affected by the proposed rules may want to read and comment.
I think this is a good idea. Here's where you can check it out. http://www.consumerfinance.gov/regulations/

This was very informative and covered many things, although primarily with a California law basis. I tried to get specific info on the SAFE Act as it relates to our business, but the only thing presented was a comment about "runners" who solicit business for lenders or brokers. There are a lot of rules in California to get an MLO license, and the audience of attorneys brought up some interesting "what if" questions.
It was worth the three hours in front of my computer.
