$50.00 one page closing

Hello All, I had a question about the 1 page closing. Generally they pay about 50. By the time I drive, ID, they sign, I drive back , fax, invoice and drop at FedEx, it is really only a difference of about 30 minutes then a full signing. I am usually not printing documents for the 1 page closings. What rate is everyone else charging?

I think $50 is fair.

I totally agree with making two copies and getting both signed. This approach has saved me lots of time.

I hear what you are saying. $50 is is fair. More than fair. However, if you have to travel far, really far. You should refuse the signing and wait for a full signing that pays the money you need to make it worth your while. I have been in the same situation and at that point it's not about the 1 page, it is the mileage/fee. But the $50 is fair especially if someone lives close enough.

First, Barb, I've read several of your posts. I appreciate your posts and really like your advice.

I agree $50 is more than adequate payment. Even if it only takes 30 minutes less time than a full signing...that's still mathematically 30 minutes less! More money in your pocket for less of your times. What's not to love? As for the distance, YES. $50 to go 45 miles one-way is one of those "ummm....no" moments to me. Gas costs me money, mileage puts wear and tear on my vehicle which costs me money. The payment better exceed my costs otherwise MY poor decision making ability is costing me money. No thank you.

LOL. I am not sure we are agree or disagree on this one... Anyhow.

I mentioned this on an earlier post several months ago and got clobbered... LOL.. Smile

On the other hand, I am not insinuating that someone should pay me more for have one paper notarized signed because I am driving 30 miles. (Unless that want to of course. LOL) But once on I am there I would prefer the full signing.

I think I should quit before I stick my foot any futher in my mouth. Smile

And maybe everyone needs to decide for themselves what is fair and how they see their business.

$50 is absolutely fair in California...don't know about other places.

Good pay if it is within a 5-10 radius, but not 30 miles. It's rare that I go that far for a full signing unless the compensation is there.

I agree with Jan. I turn down any one pagers further than 15 miles. Just isn't worth the time and gas any more.

It is fair depending on the drive. Did one, 4 miles both ways, took less than 10 minutes. A little longer because I started to chit-chat with the client, lol.

50 is def fair if its local and it should always be your minimum. Everyone has a minimum when your a mobile company. It has never been a problem here in CA.

Sounds like the BOA mods I have been getting called on. I basically will only go in my or adjoining zip codes, and will not take during prime time, ie: weekday evenings.
