HOPE 4 HOME
I just had an interesting text conversation with the above company. I received partial payment for a signing on April 1, (I guess I must be lucky). I've texted, faxed and emailed. No avail. Today I sent a text to Rodger and Monte (who I assume are the principals).
Still looking for the $25 owed from an april 1 signing. Spoke with your adman. She hung up on me. Said she had to speak with administration. I'm assuming that is you. What kind of scam are you running.
H4H - Apparently a $25 scam.
Bingo! I'm glad you admit it.
H4H - It's therapeutic.
Well you admit it. Would you prefer to pay me, or shall I post this?
H4H - Post to your heart's delight.
So beware out there. This is what we have to put up with.

Sounds like a business on the verge of collapse! If they don't care what you post, I assume they are on their way out!

Hi Marianne,
They did the same thing to me too. I have a claim with their local BBB. Spread the word so NO ONE will take a "signing" from them.

No offense but I would have answered sarcastically as well. I mean you started out with "What kind of scam are your running". If you had just state that you were $25 shorted on the check and is there any reason as to why or was this just an oversight, may have gotten you a better response. But then again maybe not. But isnt this hope 4 home already a low star company? I dont know, I have never worked for them nor been called by them.

No offense taken ToniK. If this had only been my first conversation with them. This was the culmination of 3 months worth of phone calls, emails, and faxed invoices.

I think I would have been at my sarcastic point too
"I received partial payment for a signing on April 1, (I guess I must be lucky). I've texted, faxed and emailed. No avail"
It's 3 months after the fact and I've been shortchanged and no one is responding to me - yeah, I would have no patience for this either. There's no excuse.
I've never worked for them either - I think I'm happy with that.

Thanks for posting your experience. In the future, please
use Signing Central to check out cos. before you get stuck. This co. has many posted comments about non-payment. Remember, if no one takes work for them they're out of business.

where the guy got the newspaper a day early . . .
Does anyone READ THE NEWS in SC??? Why not prevent the crime before it happens! Just sayin'

OMG!
What a horrible outfit! Yet they sucker in plenty of notaries to keep them in business while shorting checks. I just looked at their rating in SC. Can't get much worse!
Which brings me to my point: There seems to be an increase in complaints about criminal SSs above and beyond the normal, and on the opposite side of the coin, practically all of these outfits are clearly listed as slimeballs in SC.
Question is: Why don't NR members check SC before accepting a job? Do many NR members not even know SC exists? Is SC available only to premier members? Sees to me everybody posting a bad rating in SC could have looked there to begin with. I just don't get it.
I tend to think that many NSAs ... new and some veterans ..... are so happy when the phone rings that they say yes to everything, no matter how bad the pay, no matter how bad the SC rating. They love feeling wanted and it's just too painful to acept reality and turn down potential $$. They tend to think they're special and that nothing bad will happen to them and that somehow they'll escape the bad guys. I know the feeling ... but it will only get you in trouble in this biz.
Looking a Marianne's profile, she starts out with "75 loans signed." So clearly, she's a newbie, ripe for the predators. BTW, Marianne, not a good idea to list that in your profile. When you have 750 loans signed or 7500, then go ahead and use that.

Re: OMG!
What I notice is that its XYZ newbies who are getting taken then come over to post on NR and other sites about not being paid. So most likely they have no knowledge of NR beforehand and therefore dont know anything about SC. Thats just my guess.

Re: OMG!
Thank you all for your insightfulness. Yes, my standard practice now is to check Notary Rotary and the other website for these type of companies, and I have been selective. I just don't know what to do when I'm driving the car on the highway and a call comes in. Bluetooth will only do so much. Yes, I am a newbie, but learning fast. If nothing else, I got a conversation going to help other newbies out there.
Again, thank you for your input.

Yes, that is an occupational hazard ...
... not being able to check SC when you're on the road. But the second you can, check 'em out, and in the case of Hope 4 Home, turn it back immediately! You are under no obligation to work for free or to be scammed by well-documented crooks like them...no matter how soon the signing is. Since you probably need to go home to print, anyway, you can check SC then. So you tick them off. Good. Too bad. In fact, it's kinda fun to turn it back and listen to their sputtering and muttering, trying to defend their cheating, lying ways. One time I did that and a couple of hours later I got the same job through a reputable, good-paying SS... obviously cos the original creep couldn't fill it.
I think there have been posts by some notaries who have set up access to SC witht heir smartphone while on the road ... or some new fangled thing like that! You might do a serach here for info.

What GG said happens fairly often
Check 'em out ASAP and, when warranted, do NOT hesitate giving it back ASAP. They know who they are; they know why and, as stated, we are under no obligation to work for free. Sometimes I turn down 2, 3, 4 or more ... and get the same signing (finally) thru the TC.

<<<I just don't know what to do when I'm driving the car on the highway and a call comes in.>>>
Many of us have accepted signings while driving, at Costco, at the dentists office, at the car wash, etc. Don't print docs until you've reviewed the company. If they have bad reviews, then call and email them and give back the job.
Always, ALWAYS check out a company ***BEFORE YOU PRINT DOCS***.

I could be wrong, but I assumed that was the amount they were shorted on the fee when they received a partial payment.
