Re: MILLENIUM LAW CENTER...NOTARY LOGIX

Noticed on their web site that they don't give a physical address, only phone and fax numbers...probably not a good sign!

Are you liable in any way? Was this a cashout?

"these poor clients that have spent so much money and giving predated checks um will lose more money "

That right there should answer your question..

Don't know how it is in MA but these debt consolidation deals with predated checks are illegal - on a federal level I believe and many states have also passed legislation making it illegal to required payment up front for services not rendered..

Too bad you got involved.

Agree with Linda

Upfront payment is certainly illegal in CA.

Anyway, sorry I can't be of any help, in answer to your OP ..... but I do know this is exactly why there have been countless warnings on NR not to work for this kind of outfits. And if you unfortunately do, never give their "clients" any info on how to contact you when things invariably go south.

Only good thing out of this is a yet another warning to NRers who may be reading this: don't sign on with these companies. Don't do any work for them. You can't be that desperate for $$.

I don't know about this one, but many of these cos.

are scams. Like the mortgage rescue scams, I will not get involved in that kind of work.
Try to remember, you are the only person these folks ever see face to face, and if you are the one accepting the checks you are an accessory to the crime. Many of us will not go anywhere near this kind of thing.

Re: Agree, don't go there--bad juju

If you have done one of these signings (not realizing it was probably a scam) what would you do? Should I contact the borrower and tell them to investigate and they could stop payment on the last 3 checks? I feel terrible about this. Thanks
