Need computer whiz advice for a desktop tower
I am looking at a refurbished Dell Pentium D 28GHz 2GB 80GB HDD Capacity Windows 7 Home. Would this be a good selection for this business?

Whiz would tell you dont bother, useless and out dated. You can get a loaded tower for 300. Tablet 800. PC and Laptops will go theway of VCR by 2015.

Buy new, nothing refurbished. Prices too low and technology advancing everyday to mess with that. Try Bizrate.com, shopzilla.com, amazon for prices of model you like and go from there.

Agree with Lucky...buy new. Sounds like the one you are looking at only has 2G RAM anyway. Which means you'd need to add a memory card or two to it and get at least 4G to 6G total RAM...if there are empty slots in it to allow that. But, by the time you add the cost of those, you've paid for a new tower. Don't agree that desktop PC's will disappear anytime soon ..JMO...(laptops may...with tablets now taking over), but desktop prices are really coming down.

One computer critic put it well as far as the touch interface in Windows 8 goes (which is what tablets are for). It's fine for people who consume information but not so great for people who create information. Buy accordingly.

I would not buy anything with less than 6GB memory.
