Does anyone know if a Florida Notary can hold a notary commission in another state.

Check the other states notary laws on residency, maybe if you are not legally a resident there you may have to maintain an office there.

It depends on the other state...
The state of Florida can't regulate commissions for other states. Whether or not you can get a commission in another state is entirely up to that other state.
Some state allow residents of another state to obtain a commission if they work in the state.
I looked up the states that border Florida, and here's what I found... but be sure you verify this on your own:
Georgia: "...you must reside in a state bordering Georgia and carry on a business or profession in Georgia or be regularly employed in the Georgia county of application."
Alabama: Requirements vary by county; notaries must be appointed by a probate judge within the county
Mississippi: Must be a permanent resident of Mississippi for at least 30 days (cannot be registered to vote or maintain a residence in another state, among other things)

There is a notary here that has a commission in MD - I thought FL said no, but I don't know. Read your manual or call the SOS and ask.

Anyone can be commissioned in Wisconsin
Only requirement is that you be a legal resident of the United States.

Re: Anyone can be commissioned in Wisconsin
Wow! I just checked and you are correct Robert. The statutes used to require notaries to be residents of Wisconsin, now they just need to be legal residents of the USA.
Who is eligible to apply to become a Wisconsin Notary Public? Any United States resident 18 years of age or older who has at least the equivalent of an eighth grade education, is familiar with the duties and responsibilities of a Notary Public, and has demonstrated adherence to laws according to the Wisconsin Statutes with regard to arrests/citations/convictions, is eligible to apply for a Wisconsin Notary Public Commission. An applicant does not need to be a Wisconsin resident and does not need to be an United States Citizen
