Question for Virginia notaries
I had a VA property refi signing today. The Note did not have any wording on the last page where the notary was expected to "certify" that the note was for the same property as shown in the DOT. Has this requirement been eliminated?
I wouldn't have signed it anyway, even if it had been there. Just curious...

That language isn't always on the Note. I have found
that it's there most often for VA or FHA loans, but that may be just coincidental.

Not eliminated, probably on 8/10 notes I see still have it.

Thank you all for your replies. When I didn't see the
notarization request on the note I was relieved that I wouldn't have to address the issue with the TC. Florida notaries cannot "certify" the statement regarding the note and DOT.

Re: Thank you all for your replies. When I didn't see the
"Cutting Edge" institutions (like Navy Fed) are in the forefront when it comes to compliance. A notary can never "certify" the contents of any document.
I have a nice standout page (IMPORTANT) with my ACK for the companies who are lagging to get on board

For clarification: VA notaries do "verifications of fact"
AND of course, the certifying of "true" copies of original documents and affidavits
