Signing Agent Training

Just received an e-mail from TSI (Title Source Inc.) about mandatory courses that are on the horizon. Any comments?

Yeah..I got it too and I have a comment

I wish they'd send me work like they send me "mandatory classes"!! Based on what the training is going to be, it would appear they're having issues with some stuff that needs correcting - again!

Good grief...

I agree, but think that they should

re-evaluate the selection process, as I think this will rid them of some of basic issues that appear to occur time and time again.

exactly!!

Plus they seem to farm it out to SS in my area who want to pay $50-75 for Quicken.

Im not wasting my time taking training for companies who dont bring me business. Im too busy drumming up my own business.

So....the real problem is they're getting crap work for crap

fees. Good notaries don't work for those companies. IMO mandatory training isn't going to help the situation at all.

My volume with them went down after I became their "Elite" notary..big deal..they call my husband more and pay him more too...At least we get the calls..lol

fees are consistent with what I set up when I started w/them. Their calls have all been either my basic fee, or a larger for more travel. $xxx. Maybe it has to do with the region & density of notaries and/or crappy notaries (in my area). AND payment is prompt!

IN requires us to do annual training and hold a Title Producer license. 7 hours class room training plus travel time, and significant cost plus cost of registration of the license. I hold firm on my basic rate to have a chance at turning a profit. I will not do any further training that is imposed by anyone other than the state. Enough that we renew licenses, certifications, background checks and E&O.
