After having been burned for the second time in 8 years I took on a new policy. If I am out and about away from the computer go ahead and accept the job. However when I get by the computer and before I download the documents check out the star rating system on Notary Rotary. If it is below 3 and especially has bad no payment comments I don't hesitate to give the job back. I actually had one last night that I accepted and when I got back to the office I noticed that had a 1 1/2 star no payment record. I gave it back. The scheduler said "we promise to pay" I said "yep that's what I've heard before no thanks".

This is exactly how it should be! It takes getting burned good to turn your biz model around that works for you so you get paid. Only work for the best. Let the others drown in orders with no one to agree to their no pay policies.

I agree whole heartedly and approve of this message
The past 3-4 days have been insanely busy for me. I don't have the time to ferret through things and sort it out at a moment's notice. (Hell, who am I kidding...there were several moments I didn't have a chance to answer the phone with all the work I had). Did I miss some good ones? Probably. Did I perform for some good ones, absolutely.
Either way, today is my birthday. Where am I? Work. Why? The mortgage man doesn't care and still expects to be paid...just like me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RYAN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU~AND MANY MORE.
I always work on my birthday, and I'm happy to do so! Way to go.
Take some time to celebrate too, I celebrate daily! This job is definitely not a CAKE WALK, so have some fun too with special friends/family!

We work when we can - we never know what tomorrow
will bring - but at least another day. It's an adult thing.
Happy birthday. Enjoy.

I do even better than that...
I accept the assignment. When I can I review them on NotaryRotary and if the review is bad, I copy and paste all the horrible reviews from NotRot into my reply to their confirmation! I add to the subject line: Please assign to someone else
Then I say in the body of the reply email: This is what your company looks like on NotaryRotary.com, and why I can't accept this assignment:
and list all the bad reviews.
Never once did any even bother to reply to my email. Obviously they found some sucker in my area to work for them, but at least it wasn't me!
