Anyone heard of Voyage Financial Group in Sacramento, CA? No info on Signing Central.

Yes. I've worked with them in the past. Last time was about a year ago. At that time, I requested, and received, additional pay due to VERY large package. Their packages are usually large to begin with.

Having not heard from them in several months, I emailed them in January and received a response advising me they had just transitioned from Voyage Financial to Paramount Equity and that they should have lots of work for me soon. Still waiting.

My guess is they didn't like paying the additional fee. They pay in 2-3 weeks and they have no problem paying $125.

Just visited their website. There's a click on there "Please visit our new & improved California website for home loans." I click on there and get routed to a website in what appears to be Sanskrit. Don't know what that means but I found it interesting ......

You are right, Yoli.

Since making that transition Voyage Financial to Paramount Equity, it appears that they are able to find people who will accept lower fees. I too had completed a number of signings for them in the past and only one since the transition, which was given to me by a friend that they had contacted. He was not available and they didn't have an issue me filling in for him.

With that being said, I have notice that there has been a onslaught of "new to me" SS coming out of the woodwork....offering low, low fees. "How low will they go"?

Re: You are right, Yoli.

Paramount Equity called me last Friday to do a Saturday signing. The fee they first offered was $100 and made a note of it to tell me their "regular" notary was not available and that was what his fee was and that he lived in a town outside of Visalia, and would travel here for that fee. I stated that my fee was $150; they are a mortgage company, they are not going through an SS. She came back at me with, our SS's only get $125 and they give the notary $75. I was a little taken aback and said, well, that fee is entirely too low. I, in fact, was doing a Paramount Equity for an SS that evening for $125. I had done one earlier in the week for another SS, also for $125. I again stated my fee at $150. We could not come to an agreement, so I passed on it.

Don't understand state notary laws

When I let them know the borrower did not have ID to match the hyphenated name on the documents and did not have two credible witnesses who could identify her that way, they told me I could use a utility bill (!) or a bank card that had her picture. I said I can't use those for notarial purposes. They canceled so they could find a notary who will. Probably will, too. Especially if that notary goes by their instructions to use a utility bill or bank card (she said they have a list for notaries of ID's they can use...).
